Calendar :: 9.11k run Sep 8, 2012

Redstone Arsenal is hosting a 9.11K run. I am hoping to repeat the support we showed last year since all of the soldiers have left the installation. We are behind on this effort due to communications problems and would like to know as soon as possible if we can help them out.

I spoke with the Gaylene Wilson the event organizer she stated that they would need about 21 cars to support in the fashion in which we did last year. We would follow the same set up in that we would post the cars at the designated locations and not only look at for the safety of the runners but also provide some motivation.

The race route begins at the Sparkman bldg. 5302, exit parking lot heading north on Patton Road, turn left on Neal Road, take Neal Rd up to Marshall/Mills and turn left, continue south across Martin, follow until Mills continues left, stay straight until you reach Patton again, turn left heading back North to Sparkman, turn left into complex back to start/finish line. Current plan is to have all guards in place NLT 0715 so we would need to arrive at the Sparkman building by 0630. We will meet this time at Gate 8 NLT 0615 and convoy into the Sparkman Center.

I will need a list of those individuals that will need gate access so that Gaylene can have them cleared beforehand.

Once it is over, most likely NLT 0930, I thought we could do brunch at Chili's or a late breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

Again this would be a great opportunity to show our support to those who died for no apparent reason...other than being an American.
